To all those that come to this happy place, welcome!

Okay, I may have borrowed that from a very wise man, but it holds very true for DTunes Radio. This site was created for the young and young at heart. A place where Disney fanatics from around the world are welcome to come together and relive their fondest Disney memories. A place where fans can meet up with friends they’ve made over the years, or greet new fans and build new friendships.

DTunes Radio is first and foremost a Disney radio station that plays the audio we all know and love. It somehow magically transfers you to the Disney frame of mind. Whether it’s that special moment at a Disney park you’ll cherish forever, or the music soundtrack that puts you right into the Disney movie you grew up watching throughout your childhood, or maybe just discovered for the first time.

But DTunes Radio is so much more than just Disney audio. Its forums, its wallpapers, its videos, its contests and games. But all that pales in comparison to the extraordinary members and staff we have. They, and you are what makes DTunes Radio remarkable. When fans discover the site for the first time, they’re greeted with open arms and welcomed as part of a unique family. A Disney family.

Today it is my esteemed honor to announce that we welcome our 10,000 friend into our Disney family! This day and this moment is one that I will cherish and remember forever. It marks a major milestone for DTunes Radio, but it marks and even larger milestone for myself personally. It is an overwhelming emotion to think that an idea that started off so small, so many years ago, has grown into something that is beyond my wild dreams. DTunes Radio has always been a labor of love, but labor isn’t the right word at all. It is a privilege, and I gladly accept that privilege because of all of you.

So I thank you. Each and every friend that has come into our Disney family, I thank you for allowing me, and us to be a part of your life and share our love for all that is Disney together.

Such a momentous occasion deserves one heck of a celebration, so let’s get this party started!

Starting today and continuing for the next 28 days, we will have great prizes to give away, new additions to the site, new music added to the servers and so much more fun surprises! New Video Released for Disney’s ‘Planes’

This summer will bring the theatrical release of Disney’s Planes, a spin-off of Pixar’s Cars franchise by DisneyToon Studios. This week, a new sizzle reel for the film was released, giving us a better look at what to expect from the new film.

Planes will focus on Dusty, a small plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer, and his journey to make that dream come true. The film, which was originally planned for a direct-to-DVD release, will star comedian Dane Cook as the voice of Dusty.

To celebrate the holiday, Disney and Pixar released a new look at Monsters University.

This new trailer celebrates the role that mothers play in their children’s life by focusing on the new character of Squishy’s Mom. Check out the new trailer below:

Free Dining Returns for Select Dates this Fall

It’s the announcement everyone waits for – free dining. Free Dining for Disney Visa Cardholders was announced Monday morning for dates in September. An announcement for the general public is expected later this week.

Guests must book a minimum three night stay between September 2 and September 25 in order to receive the Free Dining, and cannot book more than 14 nights. A minimum ticket purchase of at least a two-day Magic Your Way ticket is also required. Guests can add on the Park Hopper or Water Park option if they choose.

If you are booking at a Disney Value Resort you will receive the Disney Quick Service Dining plan, but can upgrade to a Standard or Deluxe Dining Plan by paying the difference in cost. Guests booking at a Moderate, Deluxe, or Deluxe Villa Resort will receive the Standard Dining Plan for free, but can upgrade to the Deluxe Dining plan if they pay the difference in price.

Ft. Wilderness campsites, three bedroom villas, and the Little Mermaid rooms at Disney’s Art of Animation are not included in the free dining offer.

When making your free dining reservation, Disney Visa Cardholders must make a $200 deposit with their Disney Visa. And remember, this offer is expected to open to the general public on May 9.

‘Mickey and the Magical Map’ Opening May 25 at Disneyland

Mickey Mouse and some of his most magical friends are embarking on exciting musical
adventures in the all new Mickey and the Magical Map live show that opens next month in the newly
refurbished Fantasyland Theater at Disneyland.

In the show, the sorcerer Yen Sid directs his singing and dancing Mapmakers to paint a map that is capable of taking dreamers to any place imaginable. And, once again, sorcerer’s apprentice Mickey Mouse lets his curiosity get the best of him and he allows the map’s magical powers to take him – and the audience – on a journey of imagination with the Mapmakers.

This journey is set to an original song, “Journey of the Imagination,” along with music from classic Disney films. Other Disney characters will make appearances during the show including King Louie, Pocahontas, Mulan, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder, Princess Tiana, and Sebastian.

“Each new show we create is a chance to push storytelling in a new direction,” said Michael Jung, Theatrical Development Executive, Walt Disney Imagineering Creative Entertainment. “At Disney,

we love the challenge of continuously looking at our classic tales and most recent stories to see how

we can bring live entertainment and excitement to today’s audiences.”

Time to brush up on your pirate skills! A new interactive game is headed to the Magic Kingdom this spring where park guests will have a chance to be a pirate recruit for Captain Jack Sparrow

A Pirate’s Adventure: Treasures of the Seven Seas takes guests on a pirate-themed quest to save Adventureland, while trying to find the Treasures of the Seven Seas and fight off pirate enemies.

Guests at the Magic Kingdom have a chance to sign up as pirate recruits in this adventure, and will be armed with magic talismans, treasure maps, and hopefully some pirate skills of their own. There are five pirate raids in A Pirate’s Adventure, each with its own treasure map. Guests use the maps and the talismans to complete the pirate raids, but they aren’t completely on their own. They’ll also get help from Captain Jack’s magical compass – which we all know will lead you to the thing you want most.

Staff Cuts Expected at Walt Disney Company

In an attempt to position the company for future growth, a significant number of jobs will be eliminated at the Walt Disney Company. Many of those jobs will likely be at the movie studio and may include marketing, production, and home entertainment positions.

This move comes several months after an internal audit was ordered by CEO Bob Iger and CFO Jay Rasulo in an effort to identify departments that needed to be reorganized to meet new business models. No one knows for certain the exact number of jobs that will be cut. These job cuts are in addition to the recent layoffs at LucasArts and the closing last year of Junction Point – the gaming studio that created Epic Mickey.

New Spice Road Table Restaurant in Epcot’s Morocco

This week, Disney finally officially confirmed the news, as they announced that the new “Spice Road Table” restaurant will be arriving to World Showcase by the end of 2013.

While Disney has not reported many official details about the restaurant, Disney Food Blog has some exclusive information about the restaurant from the operator of Epcot’s Morocco Pavilion restaurants. Spice Road Table, Disney Food Blog reports, will be a waterfront restaurant that provides beautiful views of World Showcase and Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, featuring 120 outdoor terrace seats and 60 indoor seats. The restaurant’s menu will offer Moroccan and Mediterranean cuisine through a variety of tapas, small plates, olive oil and other ingredients, and wine from a variety of Mediterranean countries. Described as a “Food and Wine Festival all year round,” guests will be able to order several dishes from either the same country or from different countries, giving diners a chance to explore a wide variety of Mediterranean cuisines.

Additionally, Disney Food Blog reports, the new restaurant may also add a small walk-up window offering pastries and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as a small shop offering olive oils and other ingredients from the restaurant.

‘Finding Nemo’ Sequel ‘Finding Dory’ Officially Announced

Today, Disney officially announced the much-anticipated sequel, which will be titled Finding Dory.

Finding Dory will take place roughly one year after the events of the first film, and will feature the return of Finding Nemo characters Dory, Marlin, Nemo, and the “Tank Gang,” among others.

Set in part along the California coastline, the new film will explore more of Dory’s past, introducing some new characters who prove to be an important part of her life.

Returning to direct Finding Dory will be original Finding Nemo director Andrew Stanton.
Finding Dory will officially debut in theaters November 25, 2015.
